WASHINGTON - First Lady Michelle Obama and Education Minister Dr. Arne Duncan read Seuss classic "Green Eggs and Ham" to about 250 students from local primary schools.
Duncan told the children to the Library of Congress met on Wednesday that his parents do not allow television in his house when he grew up, which allowed him to develop a love for reading and learning. The event was held at the opportunity to read across America to date.
The children heard stories of celebrities like actress Jessica Alba and the Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver, who by his own children to read the book "Quickie made the team."
Read Across America Day, an annual celebration of reading Dr. Seuss 'birthday' of the National Education Association is held.
