The Atlanta Hawks acquired guard Kirk Hinrich hurt Washington in a trade with five players on Thursday to prepare their backcourt for the playoffs.
The Hawks also received forward Hilton Armstrong, Mike Bibby in exchange for protection, rookie guard Jordan Crawford, swingman Maurice Evans and a first-round draft pick this year.
The 32-year-old Bibby was a step on the defensive and do not lose most creative offensive force he was in his youth.
Hinrich should be an improvement on both ends of the court. He has averaged 11.1 points and 4.4 assists coming in and off, often playing alongside rookie star John Wall.
