Poseidon Episode 16 Highlight
The ending wasn't really what I expected and was a little disappointed Sun Woo and Soo Yoon didn't even get to kiss at the end but nonetheless it was an okay ending for Poseidon. Here's the final ep highlight!
Episode 16 Highlight:
Soo Yoon at the rooftop looking outside when Yong Gap comes from behind and taps her on the shoulder. Both are smiling as he asks her if she's okay. She apologizes for making them worried about her and tells Yong Gap that she has seen some of Choi Hee Goon's men but not Choi Hee Goon himself. Yong Gap was taken off guard by her statement and immediately calls President Lee after she left. He tells the old man that Soo Yoon knows the killer guy.
Sun Woo is talking to an agent about the evidence they have collected at the villa while Jung Ryul talks to Min Hyuk and Choong Shik about Joo Min's condition and participation in the recent operation. Sun Woo enters the office and the two men asks him what he's up to so Sun Woo explains that he's currently working on the evidences they found. (The evidence is a disc with recordings of conversations from the villa)
Jung Ryul and Sun Woo are listening to the recordings and are not satisfied with the information they got from the disc. Soo Yoon arrives at the office and both Min Hyuk and Choong Shik were happy to see her. Min Hyuk puts his arms around her as Jung Ryul asks for Yong Gap. She tells him that he was outside. Yong Gap meets President Lee at his farm and talks about Soo Yoon's statements.
A flashback of a meeting between Yong Gap, President Lee and another man (his face was not shown only his side profile) they were given papers by a woman containing words that form CHOI HEE GOON. President Lee explains the meaning behind the name (will update exactly what he said once raw videos are released to make sure I heard it correctly.)
Sun Woo and Soo Yoon are at the control room talking to Hae Joong and Ji Ah as they review the report on the recent operation. They want to make sure the exact location of their next target. Sun Woo's dad and the new guy (NIS agent) are in a hotel room with documents strewn around the room. They are working on something and Sun Woo's father discovers some useful information.
Yong Gap arrives at the office and Jung Ryul calls him to listen to the recordings. Yong Gap looks nervous or uneasy as they continue listening to the conversation. Jung Ryul makes an important conclusion and that is someone's tipping the triad of the police's operations. Sun Woo and Soo Yoon are still searching for clues and gets a vital lead. The owner of the villa has another property. Soo Yoon takes a photo of the document containing the address and leaves to go directly to their destination.
Yong Gap at the stairwell talking to the killer guy on the phone. He gets worried that Jung Ryul and his men would discover his secret. He ends the call and leaves but unknown to him, Jung Ryul was on the upper stairwell listening to his conversation. The killer guy tells his conversation with President Lee and gives orders on their next action.
Sun Woo and Soo Yoon arrives just outside their destination as Sun Woo receives a disturbing news. They approach the man in the farm and was startled to see President Lee smiling at them. They're inside the greenhouse and eating. The two starts asking the old man about Choi Hee Goon didn't hear most of their conversation because the connection lagged. The President left without giving them a concrete information and they left unsatisfied with the information they collected. They went straight to their office to report the information they got.
Jung Ryul goes to a hotel and enters the room where Sun Woo's dad and the NIS agent were staying. Connection lagged and the next scene I saw was Sun Woo and Soo Yoon visiting the orphanage again and is greeted by the lady. President Lee is at the orphanage too and was talking to Yong Gap on the phone. He sees Soo Yoon and Sun Woo and they all went inside the chapel.
Yong Gap gets worried as he learns that Sun Woo and Soo Yoon are with the old man and runs towards his car to follow them. A mass was celebrated for the orphanage kids as well as the baptism ceremony of the boy (President Lee's godson) along with other kids. Duk Soo was taking his clothes off as he prepares to take a bath in prison. Four men arrives at the shower room and surrounds Duk Soo who was already taking a shower. One of the guys stabs him and blood flows down the drain. It happened while the baptism is taking place. Sun Woo and Soo Yoon are watching the kids being baptized.
Yong Gap already driving his car calls control room and asks to trace both his and Sun Woo/Soo Yoon's location. President Lee, Sun Woo and Soo Yoon are walking towards his home when the two confronts him with the facts about Choi Hee Goon. They're trying to imply that he's the one they're looking for. The killer suddenly appears and points his gun towards the two.
Yong Gap arrives just in time as President Lee's not happy to see him. He tells the old man there's no need to hurt innocent people like them and Soo Yoon was able to figure out that Yong Gap is part of the black snake triad. The killer guy shoots Yong Gap as Sun Woo wrestles the killer guy who loses his grip on the gun. A fight between the two men ensues with Soo Yoon using her martial arts skills to beat the killer guy. Unfortunately, President Lee gets hold of the gun and points the gun at them.
Jung Ryul arrives calling President Lee Choi Hee Goon. This startles the old man as Jung Ryul and Sun Woo arrests President Lee and the killer guy. Meanwhile, Soo Yoon runs to Yong Gap to check if he's okay. News of Choi Hee Goon's arrest were aired on TV. Yong Gap and Joo Min are both alive and recovering from their wounds. My connection lagged again. Yong Gap may have been discharged from the service as a result of his actions.
Sun Woo, Soo Yoon and Dae Sung are shopping for clothes. Dae Sung teases Soo Yoon about Sun Woo and hastily left after earning a glare from Soo Yoon. Sun Woo picks a pink jacket for her. They went inside a make-up store and Sun Woo was testing the make-ups at the store. The sales lady even teases them and mistook them as a couple. Back at Soo Yoon's home, they're having dinner and Soo Yoon teases her mom with her hairstyle then sings happy birthday and offers her a cake. She gives her mom the make-up she and Sun Woo bought.
Sun Woo and his father are at a coffee house and the father tries to explain his side. Sun Woo listens to him and they make peace and he even calls him father. Jung Ryul and Sun Woo are drinking together and they talk about how life becomes easier with the problems long gone. A ceremony takes place on a Coast Guard vessel with all the cast wearing their uniforms to commemorate the people who risked their life in service.
It also served as a burial ceremony for Soo Yoon's father whose body was never found after he went missing. The highest official delivered his speech and praised the efforts and bravery of Soo Yoon's father. He was given a gun salute fit for his rank. Hee Sook was the first to throw a bouquet of flowers to the sea followed by Soo Yoon who remembers looking at a photo of her father. Everyone threw flowers to the water with Sun Woo remembering his dead sunbae and Jung Ryul remembering his dead wife.
The members of CGI9 team (except for Yong Gap) are talking and Jung Ryul announces that he's retiring from duty which surprises the entire team. He shakes their hands one by one and in the end his men gave him their final salute. Sun Woo and Soo Yoon are at the bow of the ship talking he took a photo of her on his mobile phone and teases her about wrinkles. They held hands as both of them were smiling looking out the vast sea.
6 months later, Sun Woo and Soo Young are walking side by side with a box on her hands looking for a department in the building when a young officer asks them where they're going which made both of them smiling with a picture of a Coast Guard's vessel on the wall near them.

My Thoughts:
Again the ending isn't what I was expecting. I couldn't believe they easily arrested Choi Hee Goon just like that when they used all 16 eps just to track him down. This is only my opinion and I hope I don't offend anyone but most KDrama endings really suck (excuse for the word). The writer damaged the drama's overall appeal to the viewers, it started nicely with all the suspense and action taking place and they've even shown state of the art technology which for me was an added attraction but the fire slowly fizzled towards the end.
Since the writer was able to include a romantic scene between Sun Woo and Soo Yoon, it probably would have been very nice if they showed a little lip service (a kiss) when they're at the ship's bow ala Titanic instead of the holding hands.
